Child Safety Standards

PepMe is published by Oppy Group. Last updated August 27, 2026.

PepMe (published by Oppy Group) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). It has no place on the platform — not in any user-submitted content. We treat every credible report as an emergency, escalate to law enforcement where required, and permanently remove offenders.

Scope

This policy applies to every PepMe user, every surface in the product, and every interaction those surfaces enable. It applies equally to text, photos, video, audio, links, and any other content a user can produce or share.

What we mean by CSAE

We use the definition Google Play and applicable law share: child sexual abuse and exploitation refers to content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. That includes — but is not limited to:

  • Sexually explicit content involving anyone under 18 (CSAM)
  • Grooming a child for sexual exploitation
  • Sextortion of a child
  • Trafficking a child for sex
  • Soliciting, producing, requesting, or sharing CSAM
  • Promoting, normalising, or facilitating any of the above

For US users, we apply the legal definitions in 18 U.S.C. § 2256; for users elsewhere, we apply at least the strictest of the local-law definition or the standards described above.

Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to create a PepMe account. We do not knowingly accept users below that age, and any account we discover belonging to a minor is removed and the data is deleted. See our Privacy Policy for the data-handling details.

How to report CSAE

We act faster on a CSAE report than any other category. There are two ways to reach us:

From inside the app

  1. Go to You (your profile) and tap Help & feedback.
  2. Describe the concern in your message.
  3. Include as much detail as possible to help the review team triage.

By email — for anything urgent or for cases where you can't access the app

Email [email protected] with as much detail as you can: the user, the URL or post ID, screenshots if you have them, and the reason you're concerned. Do not send or attach any sexually explicit images of minors — describe what you've seen and where, and we'll take it from there.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. To escalate directly to a child-safety authority:

  • United States: National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) — report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
  • Outside the US: Google publishes a directory of country-by-country reporting hotlines and the international INHOPE network at support.google.com/websearch/answer/148666. Use the link for your country; INHOPE is the fallback if yours isn't listed.

How we respond

  • Triage. CSAE reports route to a dedicated moderation queue and are reviewed by a human within 24 hours, and on a 24/7 on-call rotation for credible imminent-harm reports.
  • Action. If the report is confirmed, the offending content is removed, the account is permanently banned, and the underlying data is preserved on a hold for law-enforcement use.
  • Reporting to authorities. Where US law requires (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), we report apparent CSAM to NCMEC's CyberTipline. We cooperate with law-enforcement requests subject to applicable legal process.
  • Reporter follow-up. If you submitted the report from a PepMe account, we send you a confirmation that the report was received. We do not share the outcome to protect the privacy of all parties involved.

Repeat or related accounts

A confirmed CSAE violation is permanent — the account is banned, and we use the limited identifiers available to us (email, device, identity-verification hash where present) to prevent the same person from creating a new account. We do not warn, suspend short-term, or "one-strike" CSAE.

Cooperation with law enforcement

We work with US and international law enforcement on CSAE investigations. We respond to emergency-disclosure requests within hours, and to standard legal process within the timeframes the request specifies. Records related to a CSAE report are preserved on a litigation hold and remain available to investigators for as long as the law requires, even after the user account is deleted.

Contact

For child-safety questions, journalism, partnerships with safety organisations, or anything else this page doesn't answer: [email protected]. Mail to that address goes to a person, not an automated queue.
