Hair loss on GLP-1s: what the labels say
Hair loss is a listed side effect of both semaglutide and tirzepatide, and the Zepbound label links it to weight reduction. The figures, including the difference between women and men.
What the labels report
Hair loss was reported by 3% of people on Wegovy (1% on placebo) and 4% to 5% on Zepbound (1% on placebo).
The Zepbound label says hair loss in its trials "was associated with weight reduction", and was reported more often by women (7.1%) than men (0.5%) on tirzepatide. No one on tirzepatide stopped treatment because of it.
