Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies PepMe uses, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the websites you visit. They let a site remember things about you — that you're signed in, what theme you prefer, whether you've already seen a notice. We use a small set of them.
Cookies we use
Necessary
These keep the service working. They can't be turned off.
- Session token — keeps you signed in across page loads.
- CSRF token — protects against forged requests on your account.
- Cookie preferences — remembers whether you've accepted or declined optional cookies.
Preferences
Stored in your browser's local storage rather than as cookies, but covered here for completeness.
- Theme — light or dark, persisted so the next visit looks the same.
- Units — kg or lb, persisted alongside your account preferences.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-2PP1JBC780) to count visits and see which pages get used. It sets Google's _ga cookies to tell repeat visits apart.
On the public website — this page, the landing page, the calculator, the compound reference — analytics runs without asking. It sees which pages were opened and the usual technical breadcrumbs, and it cannot see anything you have logged, because you have not signed in.
Inside your account it is your choice. Once you sign in, which screens you open starts to say something about you rather than about the page, so we only measure it if you pressed Accept on the cookie banner. Press Decline and nothing inside your account is measured. Either way Google never receives your injections, journal entries, weights or bloodwork — only the name of the screen.
If you are in the UK, the EU/EEA or Switzerland, nothing is measured anywhere until you accept — including the public site.
Analytics is not loaded at all in the iOS or Android app.
Advertising
We don't run ads, so we don't use advertising cookies.
How to control cookies
You can accept or decline optional cookies in the consent banner that appeared on your first visit. You can change your choice any time by clearing site data in your browser.
Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely, though doing so will prevent you from staying signed in to PepMe.
Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or change how the existing ones are used, we'll update this page and reset the consent banner so you can review.
